The restaurant owner and owner of franchises such as El Burro Borracho, Guy’s BBQ and Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar, visited the destination exactly one year ago to get to know the culture and gastronomy of where he would be opening for the second time a restaurant outside of U.S. The Mexican consortium that operates this successful franchise and more than 40 brands and gastronomic concepts, with more than 130 units in operation in Mexico and abroad, Mera Corporation, is very satisfied with the work done in this first year of operations and by the love that the people of Solidarity have given.
At the press conference a few days before the event, the general manager of the restaurant, Trino de la Torre stressed on the new deck: “We are very happy to release the new terrace of Guy Fieri’s K + B Playa with a rustic and modern twist. With this extension, we offer a place to enjoy the Fifth Avenue with shade and shelter from the daily rains that refresh us during the afternoons. We offer Bar and Food service with a big screen to enjoy with family or friends’ parties and events while you can enjoy the sunset and people walking by. We become closer to the local people on our first anniversary with this embellishment to the facade which generated 30% more direct employment to the people of Playa. Our terrace offers a versatile and pleasant musical atmosphere during the midday and at night.”

On the night of the event, in addition to celebrating a year of operations with the special public of Playa del Carmen, Guy Fieri’s also took the opportunity to reopen this new terrace of the restaurant and its innovative design of 60m2, as well as to offer the most popular appetizers of Guy like the Vegas Fries potatoes, the incredible Sashimi Won Ton tacos or the winner of the NYC wine & food festival Burger Bash, the famous Mac’N’Cheese Bacon Burger, along with a good variety of complimentary drinks to all the people who could attend the evening, especially with the extravagant and delicious Caliente Margarita. DJ Lada, the Russian artist of the moment in the Riviera Maya, was the special guest in charge of delighting the guests with their best musical mixes.
